In celebration of British Columbia’s birthday (ah hell, I’m guessing there,I don’t know what B.C. day really celebrates) Greg Balloch and I felt a long weekend podcast was necessary.
The Canadians have only played five games since we last spoke, losing three of them. Not terrible at first glance but two of those three losses included giving up 7 run leads.

Games like that (remember game four of the season when the C’s bullpen gave up a 7 run lead to Salem-Keizer, only to tie with Spokane for the first half flag) can kill team’s chances during short season baseball.
We also chatted about the flurry of Blue Jay minor league moves that took place Friday. Including the promotion of Miguel Castro. Easily the best pitcher for the C’s thus far. Losing the big Dominican righty will be another blow to Vancouver’s playoff chances.
Speaking of pitchers, I chatted with Chris Sherwin of BlueJaysPlus.com about pitching mechanics and some of the prospects in the Jays system.
